Subject: Windows XP Installation hang recovery |
Comment: Hi everybody, I really need some help here, I have initiated an upgrade installation from win98 to windows xp pro. The installation gets to the last minute of the install where it is removing the temp files. It is at this point that the installation hangs....and just sits there. The installation process does not go any further than that. I desperatley need to abort the installation and restore 98 but I cannot get to any menu that will allow me to restore win 98. When I restart the system, the installation restarts again and the same problem eventually occurs. If anybody can tell me how to initiate a win98 recovery at this stage of the installation, please lert me know! CAN ANYBODY HELP PLEASE!!

Reply: (edit)ian, how could you upgrade to xp via 98 if you done a clean install? a clean install means a format and a format wipes your drive so therefore it has no operating system on it so you could'nt have installed via 98 which would have been an upgrade if you had.
