I'm trying to install windows xp on my emply 20gb hard drive. do I need some kind of bootdisk? how do I get my computer to open up the windows xp pro setup on computer startup?

When the pc start hold F8 and choose boot from atapi cd rom or boot from cd rom and follow the instructions.

XP CD is self bootable. Just configure your Bios to boot from CD first

I don't know if this will help you, but when I was trying to install my Windows XP Professional the only way I was able to get it done was to download the startup disks at this website.
