I'm trying to install windows xp home on my pc...i have a new compaq but i got this one from my sister...when i first tried to install it, it went to about 34 minutes and stopped and said to change my bios settings, the caching and shadowing...i did that and now it only goes to the 39 minutes left and doesnt move.....any ideas email me....thanx

have you tried resetting your bios to the their default settings? and then installing xp?
