Hiya,

I baught off ebay 2 XP Home's all sealed in the srink wrapper, the only problem is that they are Dell.

The auction said it can be used on any PC / Custom PC. It has a CD and COA (product code sticker) they both have Dell on. Would i be breaking some sort of Microsoft policy by using these on a non Dell computer?

Any help would be apprechiated.

Didn't the auction disclose what your were bidding on?

How much did you pay for each?

What I meant was, shouldn't you have asked your question(s) BEFORE you even bid on the discs?

Quote "Didn't the auction disclose what your were bidding on?"

the auction said the following

Quote
"Sealed Microsoft Windows XP Home, Full, inc SP2

This is a full version, including a CoA Sticker with Key!!!
(The key was not activated or registrated before)

CD with SP2 + Booklet + CoA Sticker

Postal insurance with tracking number! (no dispatch risk for you)

for every PC/Notebook or no-name PC!

Language: English

NEW: all in Shrink Sealed unopened wrapper!"

Then turns up 2 x Dell CD's / COA's thats why i was puzzled to wether i could use them because the description as shown above states that it was for use on ANY pc / unbranded. Am i thinking i have a case to report the aution to ebay?

Kind Regards

I have seen those for sale on the net before. I don't know if they will work or not. I am pretty sure they aren't legal. Why won't you tell us how much you paid?

Lemme guess. You paid $55.10 for each?

CD and sticker = legal.

Works on a non dell?....mine do...but it ask for a key.

I also use HP cds on IBM machines but need to use green and blue COAs and not just the BLUE coa. If on a HP the blue COA works.

My Gateway disk just doesn't seem to care about anything but an IBM computer with a Gateway logo does look odd....LOL

So having bought them give one a try and see.

Some sellers on Ebay just don't disclose all the information.
