I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM,AND I HAD TO DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER UPGRADES FOR WINDOWS XP FROM THE STEINBERG.NET WEBSITE.LOOK UNDER SUPPORT, AND THEN LOOK FOR DOWNLOADS.YOU MAY ALSO HAVE TO UPGRADE YOUR DRIVERS FOR YOUR SOUND CARD.I HAVE THE OLD ST 24\96 AUDIO CARD AND HAD TO DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS TO USE IT. ALSO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF DOWNLOADING THE FREE VST 5.1 UPGRADE THAT WILL WORK WITH YOUR VST 5.0 SO YOU CAN HAVE MORE PLUGINS,ETC.ETC.
