I have a strange problem with a computer which i have just formatted and reinstalled windows XP on. When I connect to the internet (via NTL), and then subsequently try to shut down the machine, it wont let me. The system just seems to hang and I have to turn off the computer manually. There is no other software on the machine so there cant be any other programs causing a conflict, so i'm really a bit lost as to what's happening. The cable modem is fine as it has been tried on another machine.
