Microsoft extends the life of Windows XP again in sales and support. By the time Microsoft finally retires Windows XP for good, maybe lol, it will be nearly 13 years old. It's the OS that never seems to want to die.

Long live XP! That's good news, atleast for me.

That's also good news for people using entry level or older netbooks as well.

Right, I'll still be using XP for the next 2 years atleast, and so will many others who own netbooks.

Errr ... most people in the above category got their Netbook PCs preloaded with XP on it. And for those that didn't, I'd be real surprised & puzzled to see any of them pay retail for an XP license when Windows 7 runs flawlessly on Netbook PCs & cost less than XP.

I don't expect anyone who buys a Netbook preloaded with Windows 7 ditching it & paying for XP, but we'll just have to wait & see.

Yeah I understand that, which is why I was saying that's good news for them because they will have a little more extra life in their OS support from MS for a while to come now. Which is good for people like me that have a netbook running XP and don't plan on upgrading to a new netbook anytime soon.

I thought Cobra was talking about netbooks pre-loaded with XP, not ones preloaded with 7.
