Hi when I installed the new ATI catalyst drivers which I have done before without problem it asked me to reboot which I did. When windows was booting up it asked if I wanted to load windows normally, last known good configuration, safe mode etc. when I tried to select last known good configuration my keyboard became unresponsive and windows loaded up normally. After the loading screen it went black for a few seconds then the BSOD flashed quickly and it restarted and started up again only to do the same. I have not made any hardware changes only the drivers for my graphics card which I believe is the problem. This has happened before and was noted as a CHKDSK fault by the repairman. I would like advice on how I would be able to fix it without erasing my HDD data. I have tried using a floppy to boot up and the windows XP CD to repair it but neither have worked. I have checked the airflow to my cpu and gpu which are fine and my PSU is 450 watt which is more than capable and is very reliable.
Thanks DP

Why would you pick that choice? You pick boot normally first then try last good in most cases.
See if you have a restore point to a time before the driver addition. If not then maybe a driver rollback or remove or update driver again.
A repair would be almost the last choice.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

Try booting into safe mode and rollback the driver. You may have installed the wrong driver for your card or OS.

I'm sorry I never made that clear but I could not select last good configuration it made me pick start normally first which caused it to keep rebooting. I enabled usb legacy and then the keyboard started working and then I selected Last known good configuration and it worked. Thanks for the help though.
Thanks DP

ATI Catalyst version 7.3 caused a minor problem in my system, too. It may contain buggy code. Therefore, for those that have not installed the latest version, I suggest to please wait.
My problem is, I open a window and click a menu item, File or Appearance, for example, and there should be fine-grooved horizontal lines between the items in the drop-down menu. The lines have all disappeared.
I have reported my problem and am waiting for a response.

Well I think I may have the same problem but I reinstalled them and they work nicely, I believe my problem was I had installed them incorrectly by accident. I haven't had any problems so far. I read that the new drivers are buggy and hope ATI get the problem fixed
Thanks DP

I have solved my problem. I am sorry my problem was due to Windowblinds and not to ATI Catalyst v.7.3 drivers.
Although I have been using Windowblinds v.5.0 for close to 2 years and have updated Catalyst drivers many times with Windowblinds loaded, I have had this problem only now with v.7.3 drivers.
I unloaded Windowblinds and reloaded it and my problem disappeared.
