This is a minor problem: I recently installed MS PLus! SuperPack for Windows. While selecting a new desktop background and screensaver, the icon titles on the desktop are no longer transparent. I can't figure out how to get the transparent titles back. I have the desktop settings as Windows classic experience, windows standard colors, then custom color. No color is not a choice!! Help!!

Is uninstalling MS PLus! SuperPack for Windows a choice for you?

To make them transparent you will need to right click on my computer and go to properties. In the properties box click on the advance tab. in this click on the settings for performance. Scroll to the bottom of this windows and hopefully the box labeld "use drop shadows on icons on the desktop" is un-checked. If it is just check it and go apply.

I need a knew signature

atjig, It's possible that Active Desktop is enabled. To Disable Active Desktop. Open the Control Panel.
Open Display Properties.
Click the Desktop tab.
Click the Customize Desktop button.
Click the Web tab in the Desktop Items window.
Make sure all checkboxes in this window are un-checked including My Current Homepage.
Restart your computer.

nvm! i got it fixed. i took off active desktop and had to go back to properties in performance and CHECK the box that says the "Use drop shadows..."

i misread it and thought it says to uncheck.
