I have Windows XP Pro with GeForce256 video card. My monitor needs some custom colour settings to show viewable picture in 3d games but every time i close the game i loose all my custom settings. Colour settings just turn to hardware default and i need to change those to preset settings for my monitor after every quiting the games. The settings are staying fine after i restart my PC? It's only happens with XP. With 98, 98SE or ME the custom colour settings are staying when i switch the games. Any suggestions? Is it related with XP user policies or something??
thanks,
snow

Hmmm, try this. I'll assume you are running the latest nVidia Detonator reference drivers. If not, go to nVidia's site and download them. (driver updates with xp are so much easier now) Anyway, right click your desktop, properties, settings, advanced. Now, there's a couple things you can try. Color correction tab. Adjust it the way you want, check the apply at start up box. Also, you can try the color management tab, and add a color profile.

Yes, all of these things are working perfectly but only until i start gameing. After my monitor changes the screen resolution for games windows xp losts all custom colour settings and turns back to hardware defaults. It is happening only with colour settings not refresh rate or screen resolution. I can click then my custom colour settings profile and everything is ok but it is very uncomfortable to click the profile after every gameing session.
Anyway i took Powerstrip and created the colour profile there and thank God these settings are staying within the games and after the games are closed.
Thanks anyway!

I had the same problem, bye bye colour settings after games. Try this right click desktop to get display properties, settings tab, click advanced, troubleshoot tab and disable write combining. it worked for me with no noticable side effects.
