Windows xp change font size in bios

Specs: Windows xp sp3, pentium 4 2GB
I changed the font size inadvertently to 500% and now on starting up (XP SP3) I get a very magnified screen and I can only see such a small part of it that I can't log in. I think I need to be able to change the font size before logging in. Is there a way of doing this please? Or, for example, are there any short-cut keys for getting to the logging in line so that I can log in?

I've tried safe mode and 'last known working settings' in vain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

font size in xp has nothing to do with the bios settings which have no control over font size.

You should have been able to come up regularly in safe mode which puts you at the generic settings for video.

Did you by chance mess with the monitor settings?

How was it you were able to answer yes to the video change as OK when you changed it in video properties?
