Windows xp cd

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 1.81 GHz / 1.5GB
Can I ask what windows XP cd has the option to repair install??....because I got a windows xp sp3 cd and all it has is only install xp, and delete a it windows xp pro only or win xp home?

The ability to do a repair install exist with all versions of Wndows.

Once the installation disk has recognised the existing instillation you will get the repair option by pressing R. Don t press the first R option as the will but you into the recovery console which is not what you need.

If the existing installation is so corrupted that the installation disk cannot recognise it then you will not get the repair option and you can do is reinstall.

why does my cd doesnt have??....I downloaded it from piratebay....maybe because it's doesnt even have recovery console.....I'm buying an xp CD sp2 wish it has....

If you buy a legal XP CD SP2 you can then download the free update to SP3 later.

I've seen the repair option missing from slipstream made xp cd integrated with sp3 made with nlite. Haven't try it, but have wondered if a person booted from the sp2 disk that gave the repair option than took out the sp2 disk and placed the slipstream one in. Perhaps someone can comment on if they tried this and did it work.
