Comment:

I have a burned Windows XP cd that we use here in my office to load on all our new stations. (Not exactly sure what it was burned from), but for some reason it is not bootable. I have to use the startup floppy disk to load Windows XP.

What part of the Windows XP CD makes it bootable?

Can I add it onto the CD that I have now?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Mario-

I had the very same problem, for whatever reason even though the auto run file is on the cd, it fails to copy across the boot sector from the actual win xp cd. The way i went about it was to use a win98se boot disk, and install windows XP through DOS. Load the boost disk with cd-rom support, then just type setup.exe in the command prompt and follow the on screen instructions. Good luck

I had a problem like that too, wot i had to do was use the 98 disk like Baz, change over to the Drive that the xo cd was in, change to i386 folder i think it was then run the winnt.exe command and it started up straight away

Download Tweaking Experience 2.0 install it, then click "Manuals" then click "Create Windows XP CD Slipstreamed with SP1a" then follow the instructions. You might need a licensed version of XP, but you can try it in your situation. I personally fill it's not a good idea to copy the XP CD unless your creating one to include SP1a as mentioned above.
