I have just recently installed windows xp, after remformating my old OS - windows me.
When i first install it it works fine (the cable internet and the sound)...but if i was to restart my computer, the internet stops to work. I checked by using ipconfig / release, there is an ip, just taht the intenet is not working...and the speakers have this annoying pusating sound that sound like a phone beep, over and over and over and over again. It starts to work again when i reinstall XP until i restart my computer, then the maddeness starts again...PLEASE HELP....
Thanks

i know on my computer, i can restart whenever, and the internet doesn't stop. by the sound of it, you might have some sort of conflict. are there any problems in device manager? have you updated your drivers? do you use a nic or usb cable modem? if usb, do you have the XP drivers for it?
