Hey

Here is wot u have all been waiting for how to change the windows XP boot screen and welcome screens.

This is short so I can share this with yas stright away. I will write a full howto later for the dumb ones.

Wait for it ok here it is ......

1. Download resource hacker from http://www.rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker/
2. Unzip this lil prog.
3. Open ntoskrnl.exe from your system32 folder. Oh make a backup first.
4. You can replace any of the bitmaps with 16 colour windows bitmaps of the same size.
5. When u have finished playing saveas in another folder DO NOT JUST OVERWIRTE THE FILE IT WILL NOT WORK
5. Now boot into "safe mode" - F8 at startup
6. find where you saved the new ntoskrnl.exe and copy it to your system32 folder overwriting the old file!
7. this can also b done to chage the "welcome screen" and logon screen bitmaps they are in msgina.dll. These can be full color.
7b. Enjoy and email me with praise for finding how to do this and also email me any cool boot screens you make because i will be making a webpage on this with a gallery howto etc and all credit will go to you of course.

Thanks

Isaac Johnston
