My computer is not running properly any more. It runs deathly slow when it finally reaches windows. However I have no icons on my wallpaper, nor any options, all I can do is ctrl + alt + del. I try "New Task" and closing open processes, but nothing executes. I don't have my xp pro cd but i have an xp home edition cd, should i install xp home? or can i fix my system

i found that neo pets was also installed on my computer, so once i logged in under safe mode i saw it and removed it. however i can't find any of these listed adware programs, sysu.exe ddm or anything, my computer still stops at my desktop, and doesn't load taskbar or icon. GRRRR what is wrong with my pc?
