Comment:

I have a new computer and it has Realtek AC97 Audio soundcard I record music using my shure57 microphone however on my old computer I had to tick a box to 'record all I hear' to prevent the computer copying the same track twice when recording on another channel, however I don't know how to do the same thing for Realtek AC97 Audio as when I go in the the sound recording window the advanced option is in shadow so I am unable to amend the record option. Has anyone got a suggestion that could help, thanks

The AC97 is a very basic soundcard - hence it usually being used on integrated systems - good enough for most needs but not very flexible. Your only real option if you definitely need 'extras' is to invest in an add-on soundcard for your system & disable the built-in AC97 one.

I have another problem with new pc I took out card out of computer and I think it is not a sound card it say's 3Com 3C900B-TPO Ethernet Adapter (Generic) on the hardware by looking on the internet I think it's actually a network interface card have I taken the wrong hardware out of my old computer in order for me to record music on my computer? Or if I find the right drivers can this hardware be used as a sound card?

Thanks
