I am trying to reinstall the Nvidia drivers for my GEforce 3 Ti500 so I can use Opengl.
I want to reinstall it intially as a PCI vga board but when I try in the add hardware bit of control panel, the only options I am presented with are for Ati cards which are not installed in the PC.
It does NOT have an onboard integrated graphics adapter and is a Dell Dimension 8100.

I'd go to the nVidia website and download the latest drivers for the device. It should be an executable file that will take care of the work for you (no need to use the Add New Hardware wizard).
It sounds like you are trying something the card is not meant to do. The latest drivers, if anything, would be your best bet.
Something to try till something better (suggestion) comes along.
Good luck.

Try rolling the drivers back then if the new drivers are causing the problem.

Disregard my last post... I got this thread confused with another.
Dcdarc: Not sure then, I'd still try reinstalling the latest drivers. And that bit about the PCI VGA configuration sounds fishy to me.

Thats what Infogrammes help desk said to do. I am trying to get Neverwinter nights to work properly.
Heres their answer
Hi,
If you look at your NWNconfig.ini it has this under the display section:-
As you can see OpenGL is NOT installed correctly, this is causing you the problem. If you completely uninstall the software for your video card and re-install it as a standard PCI VGA adaptor you should then be able to install the Nvidia 40.72 drivers from scratch and this should solve your problem.

heh, wild.
Sorry, that's beyond anything I have ever done. If no one replies, I'd try contacting Infogrames and look into getting a step-by-step procedure to follow.
