i have got windows 98se and windows XP home edition (not the upgrade version) can i install it with out haveing to uninstall windows 98se? or can it install over it?

You can upgrade with a full version. You do not need to un-install 98.

You can always make a second partition and install XP on the second partition. That's what I did. XP doesn't have rock solid functionality yet where programs are concerned, and some device drivers aren't out yet, so I like to keep a fully functional version of Windows on my computer.
