Windows XP (also 2k) freezes for 2mins

Hi, everytime after rebooting my system and trying to connect to the Internet via DSL connected to my 3com Network Adaptor my System freezes for about 2mins. After those 2mins I can connect and got no more problems. Guess it's an network issue, but don't know how to solve?! Thanks for your help!

i have the same problem, it looks like it's trying to connect invisibly but always fails... i solved the problem by deleting the connection and using raspppoe instead!
