I don't know if anyone has tried...but I'm wondering if you can dual install Windows x64 and Xp 32 bit. I am buying x64 for my new computer, but I want to know if I can install windows xp 32 bit for using older applications that x64 can't. I want to do this on one harddrive and wanted to know if I could. Thanks.

See this:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_9485_9488%5E9536,00.html
It's called the Athlon 64FX.
The price is coming down precipitously, but it still aint cheap:

Beauty of the high sierra,
And she's looking out for you.

No, no...I don't need a new 64bit processor. I am buying the amd 64 3000+ 939pin..but I already own a amd 64 2800+ 754 pin and want to know if I can dual install windows XP x64 for optimized gaming and windows xp 32bit for older programs that use 16bit installers and such.

AMD Athlon 64's support 64 bit & 32 bit applications simutanously. I'm going to assume you were refering to Windows XP 64 Bit Professional Ediriob you should know it supports fully 64 bit, 32 bit and even 16 bit applications simutanously therefore it wouldn't be required to install a prevous versions of windows

However remember DO NOT have more than one OS per a harddrive partion because Microsoft doesn't support that

Windows XP Professional x64 Edition will not run 16bit software thank god:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/64bit/russel_exploringx64.mspx
I quote:
"When moving to Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, you need to understand some key differences. The most important is that there is no support for legacy MS-DOS and 16-bit applications. If you have an older application that runs in MS-DOS mode or is a 16-bit application, you shouldn't move to Windows XP Professional x64 Edition until you can either update or replace the application.
Some 32-bit applications have 16-bit installation programs. Many of these will not install on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, since 16-bit applications are not supported. However, some will work because Windows will transparently substitute the 32-bit version of the installer in the background."

Yes, you can dual install Windows x64 and Xp 32 bit. And what is more, there is one tool to manage booting of multiple operating systems including espessially 64 bit OS - Acronis OS Selector. It's installed elementary and works well and easy. For example I haven't had any problems with it.
