when i start up my computer, i log in, then when i get in... theres nothing on my desktop!! i cant even click on the background wallpaper ... and none of my icons are there ... i loaded up internet explorer with the task manager to get to this site can anyone help me???

Try booting into safemode.....restart and tap the f8 key....try to run a sys restore and then check for viruses. if possible. good luck

Did you perform a desktop cleanup by mistake? Have you logged in as a different user maybe? Do you have a virus or something? Did you accidently have a web page placed on your desktop (go to display properties and select the desktop tab. Select "customize desktop" and go to the web tab. See if any web page is there).
