When i goto the windows update site. It shows 28 critical updates to install. so i click on install. the download box comes up and the download slide goes straight to the end, as if it has downloaded them. Then it starts to install the updates, But only goes 2 bars up on the install bar. Then it goes to a new page showin the error: No Updates Were Installed

Check your clock and date are properly in sync, if they are too far out, MS will not let you d/load updates.

Nooooo, not CMOS, that wouldn't affect it, Windows time I meant, check your Windows clock and calendar are both correct..........

errrm...... did you purchase XP or download and use a warez cdkey (cdkey found online) if you found your cdkey online its more than likely suspended by microsoft and wont let you get updates. so if you didnt purchase your Microsoft Windows XP CD and get a legit cdkey then it wont work with automatic updates.

True, though a tad supsicious! there are many reasons why it may not be working, goto Google.com and search for AUTO UPDATES WONT INSTALL.

Windows\system 32\catroot2. Delete the catroot2 folder and try again. Windows will reconstruct the folder.
