Windows wont boot after reinstalling xp

Specs: Windows XP
I couldn't get Ubuntu to boot so I made the mistake of installing it as the sole OS. After a few weeks of suffering with Ubuntu, I decided to go back to Windows XP. Paid for the OEM recovery disks from eMachines, installed them (all three disks). Now windows won't boot. From what I've gathered from hours of searching the web, I need to fix the MBR and get rid of GRUB. Downloaded Super Grub Disk on another pc and burned a startup/boot disk and it doesn't work at all. I keep getting a message regardless of which way I try to boot of something to the effect of invalid file system and goes to GRUB recovery prompt. Tried a few of the suggested commands for that prompt and get nothing but invalid command responses.
