my lap top is running a Windows XP pro OS which has its own wireless drivers called something zero....
my problem is that the once connected to my wireless network my after about 5 min my card detects other broadcasted network and kicks me off unless i go and reconnect right away.
i know many people have said to de-activate the windows driver and not allow it to control my wireless. when i do so what should i use to take the place of the windows driver, the computer did not come with any specific driver.
is there any superior device drivers i should know of?

Your getting kicked off may be attributed to other than the drivers. We use Windows XP drivers all the time without incident. Though most vendors won't tell you, optimum wireless reception requires line-of-site to the access point. Microwaves, bluetooth devices, cordless phones, whiteboards, and various other construction materials will degrade your wireless signal. You should have a site survey performed where you use your laptop to see what may be interfering with your wireless signal. Most home use Access Points are not designed to penetrate walls, though they will. There is extensive research and details on exactly how wireless signals work, and you may want to read up on them before finding fault with the windows XP drivers.
