My win xp will not start up. When I try to boot up it goes to a screen saying something like "windows did not start up properly. New software or hardware could have caused this" It gives me the option to start up in safe mode or just to start normally, but when I select one it freezes up. I have done everything I can think of, I've even formated the hard drive and reinstalled window and it still gives me that same screen and freezes. I resently replaced the hard drive and it was working great. I don't know what to do. Thanks in advance for your help.

do you suspect the hard drive might be bad? Go the the hard drive manufacture's website and see if they have a diagnostic utility you can download. You can boot up with it and run a diag check on your hard drive.
May be your XP install cd is faulty or the XP installs themselves are bad.
