OS: Windows XP HE SP2
CPU/Ram: 2.66/768

Comment:

Installed SATA controller card and SATA Drive. Windows recognizes SATA drive but no longer displays IDE drive.

Bios and device manager see IDE drive but Windows does not show drive in my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using symantic programs.. you need to disable symeantic and all its components then try to reboot without symantic being on. If that still doesn't work you will need to search the symantic site for the answer.

This is a primary issue with symantic and its goback program as it changes a registry setting.

Have you gone into the manage area of WinXP?
Try Right click my computer Icon on Desktop, then go manage.
Go into the Disc Management and see if the drive appears in there.

If so, then it may need a format and drive letter reassigned.

Hope this helps.
