Anxiously awaiting the new WindowsVista general forum. I wish I would be the first to post in it with any issue j/k. Wouldn't it be fun if the first postee receives a free stick of RAM? lol

One of my pet peeves is when any of my friends tell me that they've had problems with their notebook for the past 2 weeks and they finaly take it to a tech personel from an unnamed retailer only so that the tech person says, " we're gonna reinstall the entire OS, so you might want to save something important in your minicruzer right now before you leave because you will loose all your files..."

Can't they at least try to explore what the cause of x issue is/are? They immediately go to the easiest option to reinstall the OS and return it as new and then boast that they've fixed it. Damn.

Ok sorry I got off subject but hey I hope Computing.net webmasters inform us beforehand about the new WindowsVista forum soon to come this year Yea!!! bye

I've had 5270 running for about 4 weeks now and it is definitely faster than XP. Unfortunately there is really no need to create a Vista forum until it becomes GOLD.

There is only one satisfying way to boot a computer.

Why should they? They are more focused on meeting or exceeding their daily sales quota.

also, if they try to fix the problem, they could make something else worse. iv delt with these people before, and not all of them, but the vast majority aren't that bright. they would probably end up making a mess of the computer, and then itll be worse than before. so the best thing in my opinion, is just be careful what you do, and always have someone reputable work on your machine. im the "guy" when it comes to this stuff here at my house, and i know theres people out there that are a lot more intelligent than i am, but i have a very good understanding of this stuff. so i always just help out around my house, and when reinstallation of windows is needed, ill just do it. anyway, be happy that they end up reloading the computer because i wouldnt want to have someone work on my computer and just leave it a mess. anyway, im out, cya.
