Comment: Windows Vista Beta 2 is now free to download for all. I own a Windows tweaking site and am asking if it would be a big waste of time to find some Vista tweaks and put them on my site even though its just a beta? It's a beta 2 as MS calls it so how far is that till the final version? other sites like mine have had Vista tweaks for awhile so i need too. I dont want to do Vista tweaks and find out they are no good when the final version comes out. for those who want a direct link to the Vista beta 2 you can find it here: http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/beta2/en/x86/download.htm

Reply: (edit)The Beta self-destructs in Feb. so it may not be worth the effort. Also there are limited drivers for Vista and hard to find. http://computervitals.com/

Reply: (edit)Yes I know all of this. I dont want to use a beta OS BUT i think i need to add someone Vista tweaks for my web site because others are. I was just asking if the final version of Vista will be so different from the beta that the tweaks will no longer work?

Reply: (edit) The Beta self-destructs in Feb. Have they (MS) won the case Symantec brought to prevent the release of Vista? Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.

Reply: (edit)I have heard that Beta 2 is very buggy and not really ready for the general public. But on the plus side. This is suppose to be the "Utimate Edition" and you'll find programs and options that will not be available in the final release or the "Ultimate Edition" release will be so expensive, not many will be able to afford it. (So They say). So this may be the only way most of us will be able to see the full Vista. ??? Added note: If my memory is correct. This version will not self destruct until July 1 2007.
