I have heard reports of problems with the latest updates. You can go to control panel .. add remove programs .. and remove the latest updates ..

MS will comeup with a fix for it .. this latest update might have been a fix for a fix of an earlier botched upgrade..

best of luck Frank :

What updates did you install? You can always uninstall them..

I would uninstall them but IF I am able to get the PC to boot up at all, when I go to the Add/Remove programes folder, NOTHING is listed at all. Other folders such as WINNT also don't display anything, but at the bottom of the window it says that there are 309 items in the folder.

Go to Add/Remove programs and look at the display. The updates are not displayed until you check the box at the top that says "Show Updates". Then you will be able to see what updats are installed and uninstall accordingly.

Two other options; boot into Safe Mode, or Run System Restore to a point before the updates were installed.

Hi

I had a very similar problem about 2 weeks ago. I installed updates, after that PC did not work correctly. System Restore had a blank screen and I removed updates with no change.

After I installed the updates I could not even cut and paste. The updates trashed the windows system. Luckily I had a relatively recent backup.
