Windows Updates = xp pro reinstall?

when ever i install windows updates, the computer freezes then i have to reinstall xp pro.
i donno why and dell doesnt know either. any help is appricated.

can you give me more description? do you have antivirus/firewall up during the installation on the updates??

Please give exact description of how you are reinstalling XP. You really can't reinstall XP over itself: can't install again unless you blank the drive, but you can do a "repair" at the second menu selection of "Install-Repair-Recovery Console"!
