Comment: Every time I turn windows update on to automatically download (or to notify me before downloading the setting goes back to off after the computer is rebooted a few times. How can I change this? I am tired of getting the message that my computer may be at risk. I had a problem with downloading the updates, but the windows tech helped with that, but it didn't seem to make a difference with the problem... JC

Reply: (edit)If you are just trying to get rid of the notification popups... -open the control panel -open the Windows Security Center -in the Security Center window, on the left had side will be a list of options... click on the "Change the way Security Center alerts me" option and then uncheck the three items in there. Once you do that, no more annoying popup notifications. g/l scootr

Reply: (edit)Windows tech said - find au.inf file and right click - hit install Go to run command and enter 7 different run commands (ie. Regsvr32 wuaueng.dll ) then updates would at least download, and appear to have not disappeared from my computer, but I still cannot get it to check automatically. JC
