Hello,
Something really strange just happened. My laptop has been offline for days...but when I went to shutdown...windows processed two (2) updates before closing? How can this be?

It is involved in you auto update settings.
You may have had it set for Wednesday for example....
but, Saturday was when it downloaded the update.
It is possible that (Uncle Billy)and Microsoft have a plot to.......LOL

I have my auto updates set to download and notify me when I have any new ones. I have noticed that I don't even get notified till about two to three days after Microsoft does it's downloads on the second Tuesday of each month. So I was thinking that this is a Microsoft thing.
So I am thinking this is a normal thing. I have a friend that get their automatic updates installed the same day cause theirs is set to auto update and install as soon as they are notified.
I'm not ignorant, I just need more learning!
