CPU/Ram: 768 ram

The little earth shows up in the task bar. says its downloading but the number stays at zero %. Is there a problem here.
windows xp a230n 768 ram cable modem.

Hi you might have your update alert set to notify you but dont automatically download or install that would be why the icon is there but doing nothing. Go to your control panel click on windows updates and see what is checked. Hopefully thats the reason.

My Windows is also downloading until I dont know when. And it never finishes, and i lose all my disc space to it. And i had the problem on 2 pcs?

What can it be?

I noticed this too just last week when auto updates was doing it's thing. I noticed it kept showing zero. I'm on dial-up so when it's downloading updates, I usually won't browse the net, but did so this time. Using Firefox I went to a bookmarked site in a tab and when I closed it out, I checked the progress on the update and it showed a percent of completion. I did it again and each time after closing the tab out and checking it refreshed the update completion percentage for some reason.
