I have problems updating windows It finds 45 critical updates that i need to install, so i click to install and it does but when it installs it goes to a screen where it trys to identify my configuration or something like that and it just stops there and doesn't install all the way, do you have any idea why that happens? I think its the one that trys to install the service pack 1 i dont know. I have hewlett packard computer. Please let me know what i can do. I can't get windows to update it properly, this is weird. Thank you in advance

Gabriel, First of all, you should download and install one update at a time and wait a period of time before updating another one. Is you copy of XP activated and/or registered? I don't think you can use windows update unless your copy is activated. There could also be a number of things, check windows update support for your problem. Good luck.

Morning, HP computers have a compatibility issue with MS Service Pack 1. There should be a seperate warning on the XP update site about it. If you don't have the HP patch installed, it could be what is causing the problem. Go to HP Support and check for it there if you don't already have it installed. just a thought, XDon

Hi Gabriel, Go to www.hp.com and then click on Support and Drivers. Then when that page opens put a dot in drivers and software. Then enter your computer model (Pavilion xxxx as an example) and then click on the little arrow beside your model. It should take you to the page for your computer and look around there to see if you can find the information. Someone else in the Forum might be able to help you in more detail. NOTE: you could also try "Search" on the left side of this page for HP patch for MS Service Pack 1. Might be some help there. Have a good one, XDon
