Hi guys Lately is problem to get windows update , is come few files to Download and install and after that it says my xp serial is not correct , which i got the keys from my friend and it was correct until now . I have XP (pro) sp1 . any way to solve the problem please . thx

Microsoft has started a new validation process to catch invalid keys, if you got the key from a friend then it is probably no good or is already being used, if you think MS is in error you can Can their toll free number.

Ok if I understand this correctly. You don’t have your OWN legit copy of XP?? And you got the serial number from your friend?? Microsoft just put into place to start preventing people from downloading updates. Excluding Security updates for those without a valid license.. this may be what you are experiencing as it just went into place.. you would need to get your OWN legitimate copy of XP if you don’t have one. And it does not sound like you do..
