I'm trying to up-date my Win XP and keep getting this message: Windows up-date has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page The error number is 0x80072F76 Can anyone pls help me with this? Thanx

It's not a server problem I don't think. I use 2 different servers...any other suggestions?

peter, u know why ? becouse u r using "Wrong prodect ID" on win-xp,its not wrong but its not ORGINAL, i have this problem before, but when i change my prodect ID its worked Fine ;) look for that program to chenge ur serial number==> win-xp. for more details contact me: amkuwaiti@yahoo.com

check your date - sounds crazy BUT after I clicked on the Scan for Updates link, WU would bomb and say it couldn't scan. I found a discussion group and someone mentioned the date. I checked mine and sure enough, the time was right but the date was about 10 months ago. Corrected the date and WU worked perfectly.... go figure!

Thanks everyone with your suggestions...I actually found out that it was a thing called webrunner (compresses information for faster surfing) that came with my new dial-up isp...if I turn it off, I'm able to get my windows up-dates. thanks alot, Peter
