Windows Update gone!!

Somehow one of the kids ["yeah go blame the kids"], deleted the windows update off of the start bar. Now when I go to microsofts windows update page, I have trouble. The updates download fine but then either dont want to install or install verrrrry slowly, sometimes I have to do it several times. When I right click on "My Computer" then properties then the Automatic Updates tab everything is greyed out. Was wondering if there was a way to reinstall this "WITHOUT" doing the repair option. Cannot find it in Add Remove software then Add remove Windows components.........Thanx

That only takes me to the update page, which I have no trouble getting to. I am missing some part of the update package on my puter which makes installing the updates difficult..........
