Hi everyone,,Im trying to give a laptop to my friend but I can't figure out a couple of things. The laptop is a Dell 9100 3 ghz 512 ram. First im trying to deauthorize iTunes but it tells me iTunes could not connect to the music store. The network connection was refused. Also I can't do windows update as it tells me The website encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view,,,,. I tried putting microsoft update in the trusted zone to no avail. All other web pages I have tried seem to load fine so I think my internet is working fine. I shut off windows firewall and even uninstalled Zonealarm Pro firewall. No anti virus or spyware software is running as far as I know.I can't even imagine why I can't do internet stuff all of a sudden. This laptop was always a boat computer used for mostly watching dvds and playing games. Rarely did it see the internet but I know my friend will use it as his main computer thereby using the internet a fair amount. Any guesses would be great Thanx!!!!!!

Hallygaffer, SWAG, strikes me that all the various sites use cookies to identify your status on their site so if you were to delete all your cookies, it would be like starting over. You'd need to register at each site in order to be recognized.
Seems to me that an ISP and a browser should provide you Internet access. Is it currently configured to use your network connection? Alter the connection?
