please help, I just put in a new motherboard and changed nothing else and have tow hard drives. I just reinstalled windows with only one hard drive hooked up. I started windows with all drivers and updates and it started fast and then i shut down and pluged in second hard drive and windows recognizes it fine and works fine but now windows takes forever to start up. [Like 40 seconds on black boot up screen]The first hard drive with windows is set to master and the second is set to slave. I even tried to use cable select and it still takes forever. Please help thank you.

Have you enabled any lan devices? This can cause delays, as the OS listens for network activity on these devices before giving-up and carrying on with the boot-up procedure. Disable them if you don't use them.

1.Try to set "dma" at both hard disk channels 2.How did you configured your channels? try putting cdrom-master and one hard disk-slave on one cable, and the hard disk that you installed windows on, on a cable, set on master.
