I just bought an IBM Thinkpad T40 and after I installed some software, the computer appears to take a longer time to boot up...I am not sure which of the following files I need or do not need to have on. well the thinkpad utilities are going to be fairly up to personal taste. It d oesnt look like there is anything you didnt want to install ont he machine. is it possible that norton is doing a virus scan at boot? that would slow things down.

What are "HKCU" and "BHO" files...similarly, what are "Toolbar" and "Extra Content" files and what wil happen if I decide to delete them, will it cause a conflit or an error with my system?

Any change made to HKEY_CURRENT_USER is immediately made to HKEY_USERS also. The opposite is also true. HKEY_CURRENT_USER allows programmers and developers easy access to the currently logged-on user's settings.
