Hey everyone,

I've got kind of a strange problem, about a month ago I downloaded Windowblinds and decided to use the free trial for a month, everything worked smoothly until the trial expired, now whenever I restart my computer a whole bunch of my personal setting are restored to the defaults as if I just bought the computer and all my programs like Windows Media player, Word, Excel... act as if I am running them for the first time. All my files and programs are still intact though. When I log on after I restart I get this messsage that states that windows could not find my profile and it uses the default. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Peace

Try use some early System Restore points back to the time before you installed the free trial version of Windowblinds.

Sounds like your HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT might be acting up. Did you try and remove the windowblinds software ?
Another thing to check is your system clock, sometimes if your settings got goofy in a crash, they can go back to like 1999, which tricks the computer into thinking that all of the programs are new - this was a common problem with win95, but not as much with XP.
Finally, you should try running a decent reg clean program like registrypatrol.com which will scan your system for any errors ( free to do ) and chances are it might pick up what is wrong.

When in Doubt, ask the Nerd...
