Hello, and thank you for your time.

My bois reports my cpu as "A2700+" it is an athlon 2700. Windows only reports 1500 in "my computer". Does this mean while using windows my pc is running at 1500? If so, how can I fix this problem?

The speed on your chip is not wrong.
"2700+" is the model not the speed.

Maybe you can do some reaserch on overclocking.

Good luck.

p.s. Get this utility:

Surely an Athlon XP 2700+ should run at more than 1.5Ghz? My 2200+ runs at 1.8Ghz stock.

"What is Bois?":

Or:

Interestingly (Or not), The google translation of "Bois" from French to English is "Drink", yet the transtated definition refers to something to do with wood and its use in construction in many things including Windows??

Not sure how any of that relates to computers though?

Might be best to ask the question on on the National Forrestry website, or Alchoholics Anonymous for a more specific answer to your problem.

From memory the Athlon +2700 runs at 2167Mhz with 166Mhz FSB. That info was gleaned from using Aida for a friend who believed he had purchased a much quicker system than the original Celeron 2.2 he had. He wasn't very impressed.

Check your bios. I have an AMD 2200+ which normally runs at 1.8Ghz. Periodically it will drop to 1300MHZ when the system encounters a problem. It has to be reset in the BIOS to the proper speed.

Hope this helps.
