I have just installed a sata controller card and hard drive.
This is the only hard drive on the machine
Hard drive has data on it and previous installation on it.
I am trying to perform a windows repair so I don't have to reformat drive, but at this point I can't boot from my xp boot floppies (card skips by them).
My question> is there a way I can get files to make a bootable USB drive or CD from microsoft (legally free)
Is there a way I can boot from my floppy drive with the Sata card installed, so far I have not had any luck.
Thanks in advance,

Use nLITE and create a Customised XP CD with the SATA Controller Chipset Drivers included, then go thru the Repair Install process.
http://www.nliteos.com/nlite.html
Alternatively copy them to a Floppy and press F6 at start of install to offer the drivers.......
FYI the 6 boot floppies only allow the Recovery Console to be accessed, you need an XP CD otherwise.

Thanks MWCC,
nLite worked better then my wildest dreams!!!
Anyone who stumbles upon this post should download it as it is a really important utility. This was an even better lifesaver because my floppy drive and disks were crapping out.
Thanks once again,
