I've been thinking of trying to delete stuff from the windows registry (regedit) cause of all the spyware and such that are still in there....I haven't done so yet, cause I have some concerns about what it may do to the computer. I STILL have a problem with that runtime error 424: object required, and this may be my last resort to stop it. Can anyone suggest how I can get rid of it?
I already scanned for viruses and absolutely everything else too...could this probably be the last thing causing it?

First, Install, update and run Spybot-S&D. Have Spybot fix all red entries it lists.
Spybot

Then Download 'Hijack This!'. Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.
HijackThis!

Also, Click Tools > Internet Options. Under 'Temporary Internet files' click 'Settings' and 'View Objects'. If any ActiveX control is listed as damaged, delete it.

Don't try removing registry entries urself unless u know exactly what ur doing....

Get something like 'Registry Cleaner' or similar (lots of alternatives), this will scan ur registry for any bad/orphan entries and offer to delete them (you will be surprised hown many there are !!)

Much easier AND safer !!

GoodLuck
