Every time i put a DVD or CD disk in the player after I eject the disk i find a shortcut on the desktop to the drive with the name of the DVD or CD on it. I have been a puter user for many years now and consider myself somewhat of an expert. I have never seen anything like this before. I have run adaware and my AV scam which is trendmicro.

Best of luck..Frank!

I did a web search for the words "a cd drive shortcut is on Desktop"

Results indicate there is a program that can do that automatically. That is called Desk Drive.

... automatically creates a shortcut on your desktop to access the drive or disc. ...

What burning program/s do you have installed?

I have Nero Ultra I believe. I don't have any software called deskdrive installed. I do have WinISO and a program called dvdsanta. These programs i have had installed very long before this started.\
There is however a program called ImgBurn. I don't use it and don't need it. I will uninstall it and see what happens.
I have done virus scans with my A/V Trend Micro
as well as spyware scans with adaware anniversary edition.

Best of luck..Frank!
