these days sometimes i am getting "C:\windows\system32\config\system file is corrupt.Insert xp cd and press R to repair os" error is coming when i start my machine.

in order to solve this problem i am insalling os each time which takes 30-40min.

plz let me know how to solve this problem

you might not want to hear this,, but you need to start over. delete/remove all partitions on hard drive then repartition drive and then reload a fresh copy of windows

You don't need to reinstall. Just run a Repair of the OS. Boot to the CD, and press Enter to run Setup. Then, select Repair from the list.

Do you set any other errors or blue screens?

How much free space is left on the OS partition? Run defrag. Run chkdsk. Look at the link below for help with chkdsk.

when i click repair its again re-installing complete OS.

ya..sometimes i get blue screen errors too..like physical dump memory..

Try re-seating your RAM sticks 4 or 5 times. Be sure to have the computer unplugged and take proper static precautions.

The repair "Appears" to do a new install, but it's not doing that. Did you let it finish, rebooting when instructed to?
