What are you watching?? DVD, internet video?? What file types are they?? Maybe you do not have a codec for what you want to view so windows media player selects what it can maych up with best.
You can always try uninstalling and reinstalling the media player.
Don't use a weakness, don't change the subject, don't ask the questions if you fear the answer
All I can say, is that my life is pretty plain, you may not like my point of views, but that’s ok

Are you trying to watch these clips in Full screen mode? If so then don't.
Assuming you are using Windows Media Player version 10.
Within Windows Media Player go to the Menu item "View", Video Size, select "Fit player to video on start" and also select "Fit player to video on resize" and at 100%.If you then click on the video file it will open WMP to the size of the clip.
