Hi,
I was wondering if there's any way to edit or change the default settings for XP's "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" transition period from one picture to another in the slideshow mode????

Yousaf, There's a script you can download at the link below. This will increase the timeout to 19 seconds. Scroll down to line 81(left column) and click on "Increase Slide Show Timeout" to download a vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.
NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry.
That's to increase the time, but would I be able to decrease the time as well?

Yousaf, To decrease the time you would have to edit the registry as shown at the second link I posted in Response Number 1. A great Free Image Viewer is IrfanView which has a slideshow option that allows you to set the time to however many seconds you want. The Help File for it under Slideshow explains how to do it. It's Free at the link below.
