hi
i rebooted and windows did not recognise my password. i tried for 1 hour and phoned microsoft but were of no help. after 1 hour i realised that my BT (british telecom) broadband green light had turned from green to red (no internet connection). why did windows not accept my log on password during the time my broadband connection was down? I thought this had nothing to do with my pc.

Normally windows passwords do not have anything to do with your internet connection, the only thing I can think of is that you are connecting to a domain controller to authenticate onto Windows ? This may not be the case but if its not the case then have no idea.

I assume that after your broadband came up you are now able to log into windows ?

Oh the other thing is if you get the Windows password incorrect it will lock out your account for 30min default so it may have just been a coincidence that it unlocked you as soon as your broadband connection came alive.
